Study ladder - Are you doing it?

1.  Find a poem and analyze it- annotate it.  Write about it - tell the purpose of the poem, summarize it, note the figurative language and the tone/mood.
2.  Make a Powerpoint of 4-5 pages give the plot of the book you are reading and whether you recommend that others read it.

State Tests this Week

Do your best...that's all anyone can ask for.
Get a good night sleep.
Leave the phone with your parents after 8:00 pm ...so you won't be tempted to be up too late.
Eat a good breakfast - protein (eggs)
Dress comfortably - not the right day to wear new shoes. (lol)
Come prepared - pack your pencils!

When you are taking the test...
1.  Narrow down the choices
2.  Try to prove your answers
3.  Don't spend too much time on one question... skip it and go back to it.
4.  Don't leave any blanks - double check
5.  Erase good!
6.  If you are done early revisit the one that your had the hardest time doing.
7.  When writing, be should you spend the bulk of your time on the body.  Each bullet should be a paragraph.
8.  Give text evidence and analyze

Review homework and classwork questions
Ask a parent to quiz you
Google - test/quiz on the topic and try to answer the questions
Watch a video or listen to a song on the topic
Go to extra help
Retell the information to a friend
Identify what you know and what you need to study - study what you don't know!
