Chris Van Allsburg
The idea of the extraordinary happening in the context of the ordinary is what's fascinating to me.

Mascot
Don't forget ... your mascot is due this Wednesday, 9/25. He/she should be wearing cultural clothing and should be holding his/her country's flag. Inside the flag should be a thorough and informative paragraph about the country. Be sure your paragraph contains a topic sentence, supporting details and it closes with a statement referring to why you picked the country. The questions that should be answered are on the handout.

Prefixes
Prefix
A prefix is a group of letters placed before the root of a word. For example, the word "unhappy" consists of the prefix "un-" [which means "not"] combined with the root (stem) word "happy"; the word "unhappy" means "not happy."
Find 10 words with prefixes - tell what the prefix means and how it changes the root words.
Example - re - to do again. Word - reinstall - to install a second time.
